Craig is the founding Member of the firm.
Craig graduated from Saint Louis University Law School in 1979. His professional background and experience in the practice of law since 1979 have been relatively general with several areas of strong concentration. He concentrates mostly in Estate Planning, and Business and Corporate Law, but actively practices in all of the Areas of Practice listed on this website. Craig regularly advises clients in the formation, buying and selling of businesses.
Craig has spent most of his career in the private practice of law, but was for a short time employed as corporate counsel to a major banking system in St. Louis. From 1984 to 1986, Craig served as Bank General Counsel to the former Mark Twain Bancshares, Inc. (since merged into Mercantile Bank, then First Star, and finally U.S. Bank). In that capacity, he had full responsibility over all of the banking activities in the Mark Twain Bank system. For instance, Craig was responsible for hiring and supervising outside legal counsel for all litigation and commercial lending on behalf of the banks. He was involved in the settlement of all litigation matters pending against borrowers or other litigants. In such cases, he was seen by his outside counsel as the “client” on behalf of the bank in making final decisions as to litigation strategy and settlement proposals. In all other matters, Craig was seen by the bank and its employees as the “lawyer” on behalf of the bank. Craig supervised a major revision of all commercial lending documentation used throughout the Mark Twain system, including personally drafting forms for promissory notes, mortgages, deeds of trust, security agreements and personal guarantees to be used in Missouri and other states.
Craig has had the privilege and honor of serving as Arbitrator in over 50 Arbitration cases dealing with Commercial Matters or Labor Relations under a collective bargaining agreement.
Craig has spent most of his time practicing law in solo practice, but was a partner for 5 years in a law firm comprised of 20 lawyers.
